St. Patrick’s Day is a revered day for celebration in many countries around the world with an affiliation to Irish history. But maybe nowhere outside of Ireland is as admiring of the Irish culture as the people of Newfoundland, Canada where we are from, a long standing Irish settlement. Newfoundland also being the largest region outside of Ireland where St. Patrick’s Day is an actual holiday!
And we take it very seriously.
Our first year leading up to St Patrick’s day living in Dublin was all preparation. Being OUR FIRST ST. PATRICK’S DAY in Dublin we were ready to PARTY and do what the locals do, drink what the locals drink and wear what the locals wear…well what tourist locals wear.
We had no idea what to expect but we knew it would be a long day requiring stamina, dedication and good spirits. And we think we succeeded!
Watch below for a view of what St. Patrick’s Day is REALLY like in Dublin, Ireland.
St. Patrick’s Day on the loose!
Is it what you expected?
We saw the parade, made plenty of new friends, learned new Irish sayings, tasted plenty of Guinness, watched the final game of Ireland destroying England in the 6 Nations Tournament final. Couldn’t have been a more perfect St. Patrick’s Day! Also we wouldn’t mind some kudos for having shot, edited and originally posted this video only all while out at the pub on the day!
