The Tony Award winning Broadway musical “Come From Away” made it’s European Debut in Dublin, Ireland at the Abbey Theatre in December 2018 and we were there to get all the local reactions, spoke to the REAL people the show was based on and others with personal links to the story.
Check it out here and more information below:
“Come From Away” is an emotional yet floor stomping story telling about the kindness of strangers during 9/11 when 38 planes were diverted to the small town of Gander in Newfoundland, Canada. Nearly 7,000 strangers were welcome into the town of only 9,000, nearly doubling in population for 5 days while all planes were grounded.
But through everyone taking strangers into their homes, food and clothing donations, providing emotional comfort and more important than anything, high spirits, a horrible scenario was turned into a wonderful experience that nobody has ever forgotten even 17 years later.
And now it’s a musical spreading the message of positivity and kindness spreading across the world in local productions across Canada and the U.S, now in Dublin and moving to London and Melbourne in 2019!
See the show anywhere you can because it really is amazing!
